The Story Behind Taysvision — More Than a Brand
Some of you have been here for years.
Others are only just finding Taysvision now.
Wherever you’ve come in… this feels like the right time to tell the story properly.
Not the short version.
Not the polished version.
The real one.
Taysvision didn’t start as a business.
It started two weeks after Tay passed away.
And if I’m being completely honest — I had no idea what I was doing.
I still don’t, some days.
What I did know… was that I needed somewhere for my grief to go.
Something to focus on.
Something to build.
Something that felt like it still connected me to her.
So I started Taysvision.
Not with a strategy.
Not with a plan.
Just with feeling.
In the beginning, it wasn’t about building a brand.
It was about getting through the day.
And somehow, piece by piece, it grew.
Now, six years later, there are moments that stop me in my tracks.
A message from a friend saying they saw someone wearing a Taysvision hoodie.
Someone I’ve never met.
Out in the world.
Wearing something that came from this place… from her.
And in that moment, it hits all at once.
Emotion.
Gratitude.
Pride.
Because this — somehow — became something real.
Not big in a flashy way.
But real in the way that matters.
One person at a time.
Every single one counts.
If you knew Tay, you’d understand why.
She wasn’t the loudest in the room — but she was always the brightest.
Strong. Resilient. Courageous.
And always — always — with that sarcasm.
That energy is still here.
It’s in the designs.
In the words.
In the feeling behind everything we create.
Somewhere along the way, I lost my footing a little.
What started as something simple and meaningful slowly became overwhelming.
Not just the brand — but everything around it.
Grief doesn’t follow a straight line, and neither did I.
There were times where my own mental health needed more attention than anything I was trying to build.
And I had to be honest with myself about that.
So I stepped back.
Not because it didn’t matter — but because it mattered too much to keep pushing through in a way that didn’t feel right.
I needed to strip it all back.
To clear the noise.
To let go of what it “should” be.
And come back to what it always was.
And if you ever tried to navigate the website before… you probably already had a glimpse of what was going on inside my brain.
A little chaotic.
Slightly overwhelming.
No clear direction.
So… pretty on brand for where I was at.
This relaunch isn’t about starting over.
It’s about coming back — clearer, more grounded, and with a deeper understanding of what Taysvision is meant to be.
Taysvision has never been about perfection.
It’s been about meaning.
Connection.
Expression.
And carrying something forward, even when life changes in ways you never expected.
And at the centre of it all… is the butterfly.
A symbol of transition.
Of something changing form, not disappearing.
The last image Tay shared was a butterfly.
After she passed, something incredible happened.
People who knew Tay began changing their profile pictures to that same blue butterfly.
A quiet show of respect.
Of love.
Of connection.
It was incredibly moving.
And it was in the middle of that, that Laurie — a fellow MALS warrior — reached out to me.
She shared a butterfly design she had created.
No expectations. Just kindness, from someone who understood.
With her permission, that design became part of Taysvision — not as a trend, but as something that carries real meaning.
Laurie continues to share her journey and raise awareness for MALS, helping others feel seen and understood.

She has also shared her story through her book → Maybe It's MALS Workbook
A reminder that even in the hardest moments… something can still become.
If you’ve been here for the past six years — thank you.
You’ve supported something that was built in the middle of grief, even if you didn’t know the full story.
And if you’re new here — welcome.
This isn’t just clothing.
It’s something built from loss, love, and the decision to keep going.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this…
It’s that even one person matters.
So if you’re here, reading this — you’re part of it too.
